Mike Walk, Run, Jump and Gag.

And finally!  I got my character, Mike Wazowski, to walk, run, jump and perform a gag all on screen. It took very many shots and a lot of drawings of Mike Wazowski, but he finally can go through all the scenes and all his motions.

Mike's Gag

Our next and final task for our character was to put them through a gag.  Not really knowing what gag I could have Mike perform, I made it almost like Mike had joined the Looney Tunes.  As you can see I had ACME written on the side of the anvil, na poor Mike just didn't have enough time to react and move.

Mike Jumping

The next task was to get my character to jump on and off of the screen.  it always seems easier to make a character jump into a screen, but I still struggle with the character jumping out.  you can still tell that Mike is jumping in and out of the shot.

Mike Running

Mike can run!  As goofy as it looks, I was able to get the ball-like monster from Monsters Inc. to run. It was a little more difficult to focus on where is legs should be as he moves across the page, but I think for the most part, it really does look like Mike is running. It was also difficult to work with Mikes's short arms that would barely be able to reach around his body.

Mike Walking

We have finally started working with a character!  I have decided told raw Mike Wazowski from Disney's Monsters Inc.  Even though Mike does seem like such a simple character, i feel that it will be challenging to raw him doing the same tasks as my stickman.  Drawing Mike walking was not that difficult, but I think as the actions get ore difficult so will drawing Mike over and over again.

Stickman Walk, Run, and Jump

Now I have put everything together! The stickman now walks, runs, and jumps in and out of the frame.  The next step will be to add all these animations to an actual character.

Stickman Jump

After we worked on our stickman running across the screen, he had to jump back in and out of the shot.  It was pretty easy making the stickman jump into the shot, but it was a little more difficult to make him jump out. I feel like in this animation, my stickman more flies out of the shot, but you still get the idea. Maybe my stickman decided to become a super hero.

Stickman Run

Our stickmen have become a little more animated as they now can run! We have been working on making them walk, run, and jump.  After, we finish our practice a stick man, we will work on adding these animations to actual characters.

1st Animation made

This is when I knew that anyone, like me could try animation, but this also means that not everyone can be an animator.  This is about as far as my creativity goes, but I still have my trying my best to make animations.  I have also gained a new appreciation for animators especially when I see how much work they must go through to create the movies we all enjoy.

Stickman Walking

Our most recent assignment was to finally not work with circles!  We got to work with a stick man instead of circles.  Unfortunately, even though we are not solely working with circles, they still show up within the drawing. Are assignment was to draw a stick man that looks like he is walking across the screen.  I decided to add to the drawing by making my stick man wave to the audience at the beginning of the animation, giving him a face, and making him whistle as he moves across the screen.  I think the animation ended up looking very good.  He almost looks robotic, but then again, he is a stick man.  I think when we move to drawing an actual character walking across the screen that the robotic touch will disappear.
